THE BIG3 SEASON 3 | WEEK 4: BROOKLYN | RECAP


On Sunday, Ice Cube's Big3 basketball league returned to the Barclay's Center where the league started back in 2017. 

1. Triplets win their fourth straight game

Lisa Leslie's Triplet squad notched their fourth consecutive win, after defeating Tri-State (1-4) in a 50-37 win.  MVP front-runner Joe Johnson led the team with 17 points, 7 rebounds, and four assists, he also hit the 4-point game-winning shot.
In a post-game interview, head coach Lisa Leslie attributed the team's early success to players being "invested" and ready to compete every week. 


2. Bivouac Defeat 3 Headed Monsters


For the second game of the afternoon, the Big 3's expansion team Bivouac(2-2) handed the 3 headed Monsters (2-2) their second straight loss, defeating them 50-43. It was top performances by Will Bynum and C.J. Leslie that secured the win for Bivouac. Bynum and Leslie combined for 25 points. Former Brooklyn Net Reggie Evans, posted a double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds for the 3 Headed Monsters, but that still wasn't enough to get the W. 




3. Trilogy hand the Killer 3's their first loss of the season

Led by former NBA player Kenyon Martin, the Big3's Trilogy squad is finally finding their rhythm. After starting the season 0-2, Trilogy overcame the Killer 3's in a 50-48 win, handing them their first loss of the season. 
It was a 2-point free throw by David Hawkins that sealed the deal for Trilogy, leading them to their second straight win of the season. Hawkins finished with 21 points. 

In a post-game interview, head coach Kenyon Martin gave his take on appointing women to front-office positions in the league.
